It is amazing to see the most powerful women from Bollywood owning the red carpet at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival 2019. Earlier on, we have been seeing Aishwarya Rai Bachcnan, Sonam Kapoor, Mallika Sherawat representing our Indian fraternity since years now. It’s only recently that Deepika Padukone, Kangana Ranaut, Hina Khan joined the bandwagon along with Priyanka Chopra who marks her debut at Cannes this year. Definitely a moment that we have all been waiting for….a moment of pride for everyone who admires these ladies for who they are and the confidence with which they conduct themselves.
Indeed, it was one historic moment to watch Priyanka, Deepika, Kangana and Hina Khan walk the Cannes red carpet, one after another last night. Starting with Deepika, the 33-year-old beauty chose to don a custom-made Dundas white ivory dress with a statement bow, plunging neckline, dramatic shoulders and a long trail. Not to mention the sky-high slit which further amped up her look by notches. Acing the reverse cat eye look like a pro, Deepika also styled her hair in a Genie ponytail and accessorised her outfit with blingy diamond jewellery. How many points for DP for looking so flawless?
Coming to the hot new debutante at Cannes 2019 – Priyanka Chopra! What a stunner is she…Looking every bit spectacular in an off-shoulder black and rose gold sequin-studded gown, while Priyanka’s gown was enough to grab eyeballs, her sky-high slit further raised the hotness bar, don’t you think so?
PeeCee then slipped into her second look which was more powerful, if we may say. Wearing a Hondaya’s strapless white jumpsuit with a corset detailing and a chic cape from their FW ’19 collection, let’s just say Priyanka took ‘looks to kill’ quite seriously this time.
Moving on to Kangana Ranaut, decided to do a fusion of ethnic and western in a gold kanjivaram sari complimented with a strapless embellished gold peplum blouse. And to add a little funkiness to this traditional outfit, Kangana slipped her hands into a pair of purple opera gloves. Not everyone else can carry this look but Kangana being her daring self decided to pull it off with much panache and style.
Kangana’s second look was however was rather bold as she switched on to the party mode wearing a sexy black pant suit by Nedo & Nedret Taciroglu Couture. This was for the Grey Goose after party. The queen that she is, kept it extremely edgy and fierce by donning smoky eyes, complimenting her sexy black two piece pant suit with silver details white waist coat with an deep plunging neckline.
Actor Hina Khan proved she is a diva like none other as she made her Cannes debut on Wednesday. The Kasautii Zindagii Kay actor walked the red carpet and totally owned it. Wearing a grey shimmery gown with a modest train, Hina was in her elements as she smiled and waved at the photographers.
The Met Gala, an annual benefit event for the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, is considered one of the world’s biggest fashion events.
It is known for its exclusive guest list, its expensive tickets and – most of all – its extravagant outfits, based on a different theme each year.
This year, that theme was Camp: Notes on Fashion – to coincide with an upcoming exhibition at the Met, inspired by US writer and political activist Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay, Notes on Camp. The outfits this year were therefore, like the exhibition, based on “irony, humour, parody, pastiche, artifice, theatricality and exaggeration”. Let’s take a look at who wore what this year at Met Gala 2019:
Shilpa Shetty Kundra who recently launched her wellness app by the name “Shilpa Shetty” is a fitness enthusiast and the diva surely knows how to flaunt the nine year saree in the most stylish way. The actress who is Judge of Dance Reality Show Super Dancer is seen wearing saree most the times with latest fashion trends and wows her fans with her grace and style.
