A clash between Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Super 30’ and Kanagana Ranaut starrer ‘Mental Hai kya’ is confirmed on box office. There was a speculation the either of the makers of ‘Super 30’ will postpone the release of the movie for 9th August, however, Reliance Entertainment confirmed that the movie will release on 26th July as scheduled. The face-off between ‘Super 30’ and Kangana’s earlier movie ‘Manikarnika’ was averted earlier due to sexual allegations on director Vivas Behl and the movie was pushed for release on 26th July 2019.
With Mental Hai Kya having been pushed to July 26 from its original release date of June 21, the clash between the two stars is on again. While some recent reports claimed that Super 30 had been postponed to August 9 to avoid the clash, the makers, in a Tuesday tweet, confirmed that they had not moved from their scheduled release date of July 26.
The makers of Mental Hai Kya, released a statement on Tuesday and clarified that the decision to postpone the film was “purely for business prospects” and that it will be a “dignified release.” It was basically to suggest that the box-office battle between Mental Hai Kya and Super 30 was not deliberate and that it had nothing to do with the personal rivalry between Kangana and Hrithik.
The statement read, “A lot is being reported about Mental Hai Kya clashing with another film at the box office on 26th July. The shift in the release date is a decision taken after recommendations from the distributors, trade analysts and a top research team, keeping in mind the other releases a week before and after this date. We have thus been advised to shift the release of our movie to 26th July, purely for business prospects.”
“On knowing that there is already a movie scheduled for a release on that date, we did everything in our purview to ensure the other parties that there will be no mud slinging and it will be a dignified release. We stand by assuring that to all other parties,” it read further.
“This is a call taken by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms considering better prospects for the movie at the box office. Balaji Telefilms condemn the reports being circulated and would like to state that Mental Hai Kya will be releasing on 26th July to ensure better business growth and prospect for the film,” it added.
