Happy Birthday Shah Rukh Khan: 5 reasons why he is the ‘King of Romance’

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan turns 53 today and the internet is flooded with adorable birthday wishes for the actor. SRK’s birthday is special, not only for him and his family but his ocean of fans as well! King Khan has a mammoth fan-following which can be felt through the love being showered upon him via social media.

The actor is known to be the ‘King of Romance’ in Bollywood.

Today on his special day, let us have a look at five possible reasons why we call Shah Rukh Khan the ultimate King of Romance:

1. Palat … palat!

We are sure if you are a 90’s kid, you’ve tried this on your crush n number of times! Whether or not she turned like Kajol did in the movie is a different story. Well, Shah Rukh’s DDLJ continues to be Bollywood’s romance epic and nothing can ever change that. The movie is the longest-running film in Bollywood and has some of the most iconic dialogues spoken by King Khan in a style that is to last for generations.

‘Bade Bade shehron mei aisi choti choti baatein hoti rehti hain!’

2.He has mostly been a part of romantic films

It is ironical that SRK, at the start of his career played negative roles in films like Darr, Anjaam and Baazigar. However, the actor soon became best known for the way he portrayed romantic characters. The actor’s career has been dominated by romantic movies such as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Dil To Pagal Hai, Mohabbatein, Devdas, Veer-Zaara and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi to name a few.

3. He brings fairytales alive

Other countries have Cinderella and Prince Charles, we have Raj and Simran. SRK, undoubtedly brings a fairytale element in every romance movie. The characters played by him draw attention of a million girls and give us relationship goals!

4. Romanced almost all leading heroines

SRK has been paired opposite Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit, Juhi Chawla and others. And he has also been paired opposite Deepika Padukone , Anushka Sharma and other new generation heroines. Could we need any other reason to justify his King of Romance title?

5. Is the King of Romance in real life as well

SRK lives happily with his first love- Gauri Khan and the couple have three lovely children together- Aryan, Suhana and AbRam. As someone who is still in a happy and committed relationship with his first love, King Khan has proved that not only on the reel but also in real life he is the ultimate king of romance.

On his birthday today, the actor is all set to unveil the trailer of his upcoming film ‘Zero’ and people are waiting with bated breath for it.

Here’s wishing the superstar a very happy birthday!
